Who are we?
We are Housetrap. We run Escape Rooms. These are themed rooms from which players must try to escape by solving puzzles and clues.
How do we collect information from you?
We obtain information about you when you use our website, email us, make an enquiry, book an escape room or if you register to receive our newsletters.
What type of information do we collect?
The personal information we collect from you may include your title, full name, postal or business address, email address, phone number, IP address, browser and operating system and information regarding what pages are accessed on our websites and when. We will only collect information which is necessary to carry out our duties.
How is your information used?
– We may use your information for the following reasons:
– process an order that you have made with us;
– deal with an after care and follow up service;
– reply to an enquiry you have made in the premises, by phone, email or by the website;
– to carry out our obligations to you including using 3rdparties (where necessary) arising from any contracts entered into by you and us;

– seek your views, feedback or comments to improve the services we provide;

– send you communications which you have requested and that may be of interest to you.
We review our retention periods for personal information on a regular basis, for example deleting website form entries after a 30 day period. We are however legally required to hold some types of information to fulfil our statutory obligations. We will hold your personal information on our systems for only as long as is deemed necessary for the relevant activity, or as long as is set out in any relevant contract you hold with us.
Who has access to your information?
We will of course not sell your information to any third parties. We will not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes either. Our marketing practices are kept solely in house.

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you and the right to be forgotten. We may need to ask some security questions to validate this and for any such requests please email us.
What security precautions do we have in place to protect your data?
When you give us personal information, we take steps to ensure that it’s treated securely. Our staff have received data protection training and take protecting your confidentially and personal details seriously. We have retention periods set to delete and minimalise any data that is no longer needed. Non-sensitive details such as your email address etc are transmitted normally over the Internet, and this can never be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your information, we make our best effort to ensure its secure on our systems and only used and transferred to those who it is absolutely necessary to do so with.
